"Graeme Eusden has guided me with Obedience and Gundog training for my ESS since we met in the spring of last year.
When I got my Spaniel puppy – and first Spaniel – I read all the books that I could find, but soon discovered that there is no substitute for experienced guidance. After searching the South East for a trainer for some time I received an introduction to Graeme, and the dog and I have not stopped learning since.
The dog training (and handler tuition!) has been structured with the purpose of building a reliable performance of each task before moving on to the next level, and Graeme has been extremely patient, encouraging me whilst explaining the purpose of each exercise and finding ways for us to succeed when we have struggled at times.
We have moved through different environments for the different exercises as we have progressed. The course that Graeme structured has introduced, and then continuously improved, the skills necessary for Hunting and Retrieving, and to facilitate this we have undertaken our training on a wide variety of grounds and conditions. We began on open and flat grassy areas for our basic lessons, and have progressed to more advanced hunting and retrieving sessions on land providing shrubs, bracken, woodland and of course water.
Throughout our sessions Graeme has always been patient, encouraging and positive. I have become increasingly enthusiastic as we have progressed, and keen to ensure that the dog and I practice and improve our performance between lessons. Needless to say, the dog has been an enthusiast at all times!
